Robert Pattinson's experience on the set of Dune: Part Three sounds… intense! The actor recently opened up about his time filming the highly anticipated sequel, and his words paint a vivid picture of the challenges he faced.
In a candid conversation with Jennifer Lawrence for IndieWire, Pattinson shared a rather surprising detail about his experience: the desert heat. He confessed that the conditions were so extreme that his brain essentially went offline. 'When I was doing ‘Dune’ it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn’t question anything,' he explained. 'And it was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn’t operating, I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis [Villeneuve]: ‘Whatever you want!’'
But here's where it gets interesting... While Pattinson's role hasn't been officially confirmed, rumors suggest he's set to play Scytale, a pivotal character in the narrative. This character is known to be a key figure in the conspiracy to overthrow Paul Atreides.
The sequel will see the return of Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, alongside Zendaya as Chani, Florence as Princess Irulan, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides. Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke are playing Leto II and Ghanima, the twin children of Paul and Chani.
Director Denis Villeneuve isn't viewing Dune: Part Three as the final chapter of a trilogy. He views the first two movies as a complete adaptation of the first book. He has said that if he does a third movie, it will be something different with its own identity. The story will take place about 12 years after the events of Part Two, and it will conclude Paul Atreides' story arc.
Pattinson's upcoming project, Die My Love, where he stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence, is also generating buzz. The film follows a young couple, Grace and Jackson, as they navigate the challenges of parenthood and isolation in rural Montana. The film is set to be released on November 7.
